Argon is a rare gas, whether in gaseous or liquid state, it is colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and slightly soluble in water. It does not react chemically with other substances at room temperature, and is insoluble in liquid metal at high temperatures. Argon is a rare gas that is widely used in industry. Its nature is very inactive, neither burning nor supporting combustion. In aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, atomic energy industry, and machinery industry, argon is often used as a welding shielding gas when welding special metals, such as aluminum, magnesium, copper and its alloys, and stainless steel to prevent the welded parts from being oxidized or nitridated by air. Argon gas is often injected into the bulb, because argon does not produce a chemical reaction with the wick, and can maintain the air pressure to slow down the sublimation of the tungsten filament, which can prolong the service life of the filament. Argon can also be used as a carrier gas for chromatography, sputtering, plasma etching and ion implantation; argon can be used in excimer lasers after mixing with fluorine and helium. Other smaller applications include freezing, cold storage, decarburization of stainless steel, airbag inflation, fire extinguishing, spectroscopy, and cleaning or balancing of spectrometers in laboratories. Generally speaking, argon is not harmful to the body, but long-term exposure to high concentrations of argon will suffocate due to lack of oxygen, and liquid argon may cause explosions and frostbite. Argon can be stored and transported in liquid form at temperatures below -184°C, but most of the argon for welding is used in steel cylinders. Argon gas cylinders are strictly prohibited from knocking, collisions, or when the valve is frozen, do not use fire to bake; do not use electromagnetic lifting and transporting machines to carry the argon cylinders; prevent sun exposure in summer; do not use up the gas in the bottle and return to the factory The residual pressure of the argon cylinder should not be less than 0.2MPa; the argon cylinder is generally placed upright.
